Park History Trail
The American Lung Association of Michigan has joined with Friends of Maybury and the Michigan DNR to develop a self-guided history tour to commemorate Maybury Sanatorium. Thanks to the ALAM for this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people who lived and worked at Maybury Sanatorium, and the work they did there to fight tuberculosis.

REI Stewardship Grant
The Friends with the help of an REI grant have constructed a series of trail markers highlighting natural features found in the park. The starting point is on the asphalt trail on the east side of the concession building. The trail map can be found below.

Fundraiser - The Friends will partner with Noodles and Company of Northville for a fundraiser on Wednesday Febuary 29th, 4:00 to 9:00 pm. 25% of of the customers bill will be donated to the Friends when you mention the Friends of Maybury with your order. We need your support as this is one of the few fundraisers that we have participated in. Noodles and Company is located 17931 Haggerty Road, Northville. Please encourage family and friends to dine out that that evening.
Friends Annual Meeting - Wednesday, January 25th @ 7 pm at the Northville Library
We will have an election of 4 members to the Board and review our accomplishments for 2011.
Owl Prowl - Held on Saturday December 3rd @ the park.
Friends member Jean Bemish lead us on a walk in the park trying to induce an owl to respond to an artificial call. Eighty children and adults attended and enjoyed hot chocolate, cookies and marshmallow roasting at a roaring fire.

Family Campout - July 16th

Northville Parks and Recreation held a family campout with 20 families at Maybury State Park. The Friends of Maybury held a horseshoe contest, and supplied prizes for 6 lucky winners.
Garlic Mustard Pulls - Help us controls this invasive weed.
The season began on Saturday April 9th! Some of our more recent pulls with the results pictured below in the slide show.

Commemorative Park Patches
We have on sale at the park office patches that celebrate the Eastern Blue Bird in the park. Your $3.00 donation will go toward future park projects.
