Heads Up When Crossing 7 Mile Road!

The new HAWK traffic signal on the south side of Maybury State Park is completed and active. All drivers and pedestrians need to be alert to keep everyone safe.

Please familiarize yourself with how a HAWK signal works (see photo) and pay attention to the crosswalk lights:

• YELLOW FLASHING LIGHTS give warning to motorists to slow down as the light will soon be turning red.
• RED LIGHT means motorists need to stop and stay stopped until the light is NO LONGER RED.
• PEDESTRIANS need to familiarize themselves with the signal and wait until it gives the OK to cross the road.
• PEDESTRIANS check to be sure all oncoming motorists have come to a stop so you can cross safely.
