DESCRIPTION:Join the Friends of Maybury State Park as we try to entice resident owls to respond to an artificial call. A 15 minute educational presentation will be given prior to the hike. DESCRIPTION:Join us in starting the New Year off on the right foot!  Meet at the Trailhead Building (8 Mile Entrance) for the 10 am guided hikes. \nA hike (approx. 1.5 miles) will be offered for those desiring a shorter hike and ideal for families. A longer hike (2-3 miles) will be offered for those looking to hike a longer distance.  All ages welcome. All dogs need to be on a 6 ft. leash.  Bundle up and join in the fun. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the hike. \nTravelin’ Tom’s  beverage truck will be on site offering a variety of warm drinks for purchase. \nPlease see the Volunteer Page if you are interested in helping with this hike. \nProgram is free.  All vehicles entering the park require a Recreation Pass.  The Recreation Pass can be purchased at any state park office during regular business hours (8 am – 4:30 pm) \, at Maybury State Park’s self-serve kiosk just past the entrance booth on the right and when renewing your license plate tabs with the Secretary of State.  For further information on recreation passes\, visit www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Full Moon Night Hike through Maybury State Park. SUMMARY:7 Mile Non-Motorized Entrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, May 8\, 2026 2:00 pm \nRain Date: Friday\, May 15\, 2026 2:00 pm \nJoin the Friends of Maybury State Park\, DNR\, community members and leaders at the official dedication of the Maybury State Park Seven Mile non-motorized entrance. It’s time to celebrate the completion of a project that will help connect non-motorized pathways throughout the region and benefit all of Southeast Michigan. \nEvent will start at 2:00 pm (arrive at 1:45) with a group walk from the East parking lot (Eight Mile Entrance) to the 7 Mile entrance\, followed by a short ceremony\, light refreshments\, and a return walk to the parking lot.  The walk is approximately 2 miles roundtrip and is on paved surfaces.
