SUMMARY:New Year's Day Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us in starting the New Year off on the right foot!  Meet at the Trailhead Building (8 Mile Entrance) for the 10 am guided hikes. \nA hike (approx. 1.5 miles) will be offered for those desiring a shorter hike and ideal for families. A longer hike (2-3 miles) will be offered for those looking to hike a longer distance.  All ages welcome. All dogs need to be on a 6 ft. leash.  Bundle up and join in the fun. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the hike. \nTravelin’ Tom’s  beverage truck will be on site offering a variety of warm drinks for purchase. \nPlease see the Volunteer Page if you are interested in helping with this hike. \nProgram is free.  All vehicles entering the park require a Recreation Pass.  The Recreation Pass can be purchased at any state park office during regular business hours (8 am – 4:30 pm) \, at Maybury State Park’s self-serve kiosk just past the entrance booth on the right and when renewing your license plate tabs with the Secretary of State.  For further information on recreation passes\, visit www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport

SUMMARY:Winter Hike Leader Training
DESCRIPTION:Join us in sharing the beauty of Maybury State Park with others. Our Winter Hike Leader Training equips you with skills to guide hikes and foster appreciation for nature. \nPotential routes include 1 1/2 mile paved trail\, 3 1/2 mile paved trail\, and 2 mile unpaved trail.  Routes may vary due to trail conditions. \nParticipating in the training doesn’t obligate you to lead a hike. SUMMARY:General Membership Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.  Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of each month.  THIS IS OUR ANNUAL MEETING AND WILL BE AT THE NORTHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY STARTING AT 6:30 PM IN THE CARLO ROOM. \nVoting for board positions takes place at this meeting.  Only members are eligible to vote for board positions. \nMembers will be sent a Zoom Link for this meeting\, however\, voting is only in person or by proxy. \nVolunteers will be recognized at this meeting and a review of 2025 will be given. \nGuest speaker will be Michelle O’Kelly from the DNR\,  She will speak on the importance of Friends groups and their impact on State Parks. \n

SUMMARY:Full Moon Night Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Full Moon Night Hike through Maybury State Park. There will be 2-3 different hikes.  A Family Hike (shorter distance less than 2 miles) and a longer hike (closer to 3 miles).  Routes will be determined by trail conditions.  All ages welcome\, however ALL children need to be accompanied by an adult and MUST stay with adult for the duration of the hike.  Flashlights are recommended.  Dress according to the weather…warm hiking boots\, layer clothing\, and wear warm hats & mittens.  Dogs are welcomed and are REQUIRED to be on a 6 ft. leash. \nMeet at the Trailhead building (8 Mile entrance) 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the hike.
