Eagle Scout Projects Completed

We would like to thank Boy Scout Troop 781 for their handiwork in completing two projects at Maybury State Park. One involved raising the entrance pathway to the Organizational camp which now not only looks great, but will help resolve issues with flooding. The other project was the installation of new hammock poles, sure to be enjoyed by many.

This project was partially funded by The Friends of Maybury State Park, through Donations and Memberships.

Thanks to all who contribute with time, talent, and donations to help make projects like this enhance the park!

  • Posts inserted into ground. They are spaced for hammocks so tired hikers can rest.

  • A wooden plaque with the inscription "BSA Troop 871." It is installed on the ground near the footpath to the Organizational camp.
  • The new entrance path to the Organizational camp, with fresh white gravel to improve drainage.
