Join our volunteer thistle-cutting crew 🌿. Together we’ll snip the heads from invasive thistles to reduce their seed germination to allow more native plants to thrive.
All experience levels are welcome—we’ll provide basic guidance, tips for plant ID, and work alongside you. Please register to let us know you’re coming, so we can plan tools, safety gear, and work areas for the day.
When: Saturday, July 11th, 9:00am – 11:00a
Location: Maybury State Park, Eight Mile Entrance, Trailhead Building
What to bring/wear: Dress for the weather – wear a hat, work gloves, light colored long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots. Bring bug spray, water, snacks, and garden snips (if you have them).
Weather Cancellation: This event will occur during rain, but will be canceled in the event of thunder or lightning.
Hazards: We will be working in the meadow in tall grass and may encounter bugs including mosquitoes and ticks. Wearing light-colored clothing is recommended.
